Tier fees are editable estimates pre-filled from PSA's public pricing as checked Oct 2026. They are not authoritative and change often — confirm on the grader's site before submitting.

Chance (%) — the rest—

"Chance of a 10" is your estimated gem rate for this copy after inspecting centering, corners, edges and surface. Population-report gem rates are a starting point, not a guarantee.

Selling

Default ~13.25% is a rough estimate of eBay's final value fee for trading cards; your actual rate depends on category, price and seller status.

No AI API yet — a local parser runs the same calculator math.
Type a card and its prices, e.g. 2023 Prizm rookie raw $40, 10 sells $300, 9 $90, 8 $50, gem rate 30%, 9 rate 45%. Anything you leave out is taken from the calculator above.

How the math works

  1. All-in cost = raw price + grading fee + shipping/insurance.
  2. Net per grade = expected sale price × (1 − marketplace fee %).
  3. Expected value = Σ (chance of grade × net per grade), including the leftover "7 or lower" chance.
  4. Expected profit = expected value − all-in cost. ROI = profit ÷ cost.
  5. Break-even 10 odds keep your 9/8/lower mix in the same proportions and solve for the PSA 10 chance where profit is zero.
  6. Verdict: GRADE when expected ROI meets your minimum target (default 20%), otherwise PASS.

FAQ

Is it worth getting my card graded?

It is worth grading when the expected sale value across every likely grade, after marketplace fees, beats your all-in cost (raw price + grading fee + shipping and insurance) by enough to cover the risk and wait. The calculator weighs each grade by its probability to find that expected value.

What is a break-even PSA 10 probability?

It is the chance of getting a 10 you would need, holding your mix of other grades steady, for the expected value to equal your total cost. If your honest gem-rate estimate for this copy is below that number, grading loses money on average.

How much does PSA grading cost?

PSA prices change often and some tiers get paused. The calculator pre-fills editable estimates from PSA’s public pricing, but always confirm the current fee on psacard.com before you submit.

What marketplace fee should I use?

The default of about 13.25% is a rough eBay estimate for trading cards. Use your real rate, which depends on the platform, the price and your seller status.
